Green River Fly Fishing in the Seedskadee Wildlife Refuge of Southwestern Wyoming

Green River fly fishing on the upper reaches in Southwestern Wyoming provides the experiences that many anglers are looking for in a Rocky Mountain fly fishing adventure.  When fly fishing Wyoming's Green River one can expect incredible insect hatches, very low fishing pressure and trophy sized trout. There are few places in the lower 48 states that offer this same seclusion and consistent large trout hook up ratio.

Four Seasons Fly Fishers is one of 4 outfitters that are currently permitted to offer Green River fly fishing trips through the Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge. This exclusive permit and remote location help to ensure that fly fishing the Green River in Southwestern Wyoming provides those wilderness experiences that many anglers crave.  One can expect to include wildlife viewing as part of their float through the 30 miles of Refuge. The fish that are pursued in Green River fly fishing include brown trout, rainbow trout and fine spotted Snake River cutthroat trout; all of which are easier to speak of in terms of pounds as opposed to inches.

The seasons on Wyoming's Green River are dictated by the weather in this high desert enviornment.  The winters are brutally cold.  The late days of summer produce water tempratures that can be hazardous to the trout.  For this reason: Four Seasons focuses on three periods of the year when fishing is optimized.  The first period (or spring season) begins mid-April and runs through the month of May.  The summer season begins around the second week of June and will commence up until the point in July where the water temprature thermals out.  The last period where fishing is optimized on Wyoming's Green River begins in mid-September and will run up until the last of October.  If you are considering a Utah Green River fly fishing trip: we recomend this section of Wyoming's Green River as an addition to your Utah fly fishing experience.

Due to large demands and the remote location of our Green River fly fishing trips, Four Seasons Guide Service requires a 2 day minimum for bookings. Four Seasons recommends a day on the Hams Fork in addition to fly fishing the Green River.
